4. The Big Bang Theory

This show is by far the best show in Canada and the most watched. It is based on two roommates named Sheldon, the weird one and the genius who graduated university when he was fourteen he can`t drive, he thinks he can do everything better he`s annoying and he`s stubborn. Leonard is the ladies’ man of the group he`s also very smart. The neighbour Penny is very attractive; she works at the cheese cake factory. Howard is always dressed in tight clothes and is always hitting on girls. But he is getting married he just has a master’s degree and gets teased a lot. Raj is an Indian immigrant who is there because of a working visa. He can`t talk to women and he might be gay.
This is the most watched show in Canada and in a couple other countries. It is on season four making more money than Two and Half Men. Although this not really a book or movie it is part of my list because I have a routine for every Thursday I watch the new episode.

6.Milkweed

Milkweed is a book about a boy named Misha who lived in Warsaw, Poland who steals for a living. One day while stealing a loaf of bread he bumped in to another boy stealing named Uri who later brings him back to his friends. They don’t like him because at first they think he’s a Jew but later they find out that he’s gypsy. Uri acts as his protector. But one day German soldiers attacked the city and moved everyone to the ghetto. Misha loved them he said that he wanted to be a soldier too. He lived in the ghetto with a girl named Janina and her family who gave him a bracelet with a star. Every night he snuck out with the boys to get over the wall and steal. But night after night Uri was nowhere to be found, then one night while hunting for food he passed by a soldier hotel and saw Uri in a uniform of a German Armed Forces soldier. Later that night he saw soldiers in the ghetto yelling and shooting people telling people to stop trafficking food, then he saw his friend who was hung from a light post.
The next day they were putting people in trains saying they were going to a better place, near the train Janina was trying to get on but Misha would not let her she hoped on the train and Misha was shot on one ear. Misha moved to New York got married had a kid then got divorced, he told his story on street corners until one day he met his daughter, And that’s when he realized life was alright.
This book was another World War 2 by Jerry Spinelli. This is my second all-time favorite book; I already love the history of that time, but this book just brings the life out of that, I liked that Uri saved the boys and Misha from the trains. I also liked the fact that he didn’t really bring out too much violence. Just read it 10on10

7. Maniac Magee

Maniac Magee is a book about a boy named Jeffrey Magee who became an orphan when his parents died in a famous trolley incident. He was sent to live with his aunt and uncle who hated each other and did not speak. He ran away from them and disappeared for one year. 200 miles later he was seen in Two Miles where it is divided in two, East for the black people and west for the white. He meets a girl named Amanda who lends a book to him. Then he finds himself being bullied by whites because he was good at baseball, so he runs to the east side but only to run in to Mars Bar another bully. But he is saved by Amanda…
This book is highly rated to me, it was written in 1990 by Jerry Spinelli, it is nice because it says and shows that two races can live together. The moral of the story is that you can get through life no matter what. This book is written by the best author in the world. Anyone should read it, but there is some language and situations that involve swearing. But the book also said that it is okay to not go through school. But I think it deserves a 9/10.

The Outsiders

The Outsiders is a book written about two different street gangs who ruled the streets in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s written in the point of view of one member’s named Ponyboy. He had two older siblings who were kind of the Greaser’s leaders (Greaser is one of the gangs). One night he and his friend went out to a movie when they found one of the Socs (socs the other gang) girlfriends. After the movie while walking with her they ran into some of the Socs who threatened Pony with knifes. The girl told him to run. After that he and his friend slept in the park woken up by some Socs, scared to death they started to run… Then everything went wrong.

This book was written by S.E Hilton who wrote this book out of frustration because her friend was caught in between those two gangs. It was a really intriguing novel, even though I was forced to read it. I would recommend it 100%. There was also a follow up to it, and they made a movie. It is a little detailed with the common violence in this book. I would say that anyone 12 and up to read it.
